Michelle Rudd, of Annville, PA graduated in May 2018 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Energy Infrastructure and a minor in French. Upon graduation, Michelle moved to Boston, MA to begin her engineering career at NORESCO. As part of the Levine Scholars Program, Michelle interned at Habitat for Humanity and AREVA Inc. During her time at UNC Charlotte, she served as the president of the Thomistic Institute, lead music for a Christian campus ministry and tutored children in foster care through TKV – a student-led organization co-founded by a fellow Scholar. Michelle was a member of the Engineering Leadership Academy, whereby she developed a Health & Wellness program for underprivileged youth along with four fellow cohort members. Her international experience included a semester in Aix-en-Provence, France, where she was awarded a ‘prix d’excellence’ in the French Honors Program. Michelle used her civic engagement grant to host an anti-trafficking conference in partnership with the Not In My City Project. The conference received outstanding feedback from participants and speakers alike. Not In My City Project volunteers plan to host the conference at UNCC annually. “It fascinates me to see how seemingly unrelated – albeit important – experiences are woven together in one’s life, fostering growth. The Levine Program has enabled me to take advantage of countless opportunities – many of which I’ve assumed would be one-time events – yet time and time again, I’ve seen how every single one has shaped me, how it has pushed me to becoming a more well-rounded individual and leader.”
