Avery Taylor is a first-year Earth and Environmental Sciences major from Marion, North Carolina. Growing up in a rural area has given her a unique appreciation for the natural environment, and she feels passionately about improving sustainability and conservation efforts. At UNC Charlotte, she is involved with the Pollinator Club and Plants for People. In her home community, she led an initiative which used plastic grocery bags to make sleeping mats for people experiencing homelessness in the community. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family.
