Abby Cameron

Hometown: Apex, NC

Abby is a third year Levine Scholar from Apex, North Carolina. She is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology with a Minor in Communications Studies. This past summer she studied abroad in Sendai, Japan and completed her first research project on Japanese climate policy within the field of natural disaster risk reduction. In the summer of 2023 she interned with Discovery Place Science Museum in Uptown Charlotte to aid the nonprofit in their efforts to bring STEM-related educational opportunities to students across Mecklenburg County. Her interests include severe and extreme weather research, climate change education and volunteering with various nonprofit partners to learn more about Charlotte and connect with the community.
