Brenda is pursuing a B.A in Elementary Education, a minor in Applied Understandings in Global Education, and a Spanish-English Translation Certificate. Throughout her time at UNC Charlotte, she has participated in multiple research projects, one in collaboration with the Charlotte Teachers Institute, which was presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research and UNCC’s Research Conference (URC). She participated in a Collaborative Online International Learning experience and produced a research project in partnership with Baitursynov University in Kazakhstan that was awarded the URC’s Education and Communications Poster Presentation Award. During her study abroad experience in Costa Rica, Brenda completed a research project that was later the focus of her TEDx Talk on campus. She has been able to volunteer with nonprofit organizations that work with children from underrepresented groups both in Charlotte and during her summer abroad in Ireland.
