Madison is pursuing a double major in Chemistry and Psychology and is on the pre-medicine track. Through her involvement in the Levine Scholars Program, Madison has been an active member on UNC Charlotte’s campus. She served as the public relations coordinator for Ninerthon, an organization on campus that raises money for Levine Children’s hospital. Furthermore, she is the president of Students Against Melanoma (SAM), and is involved in Niner Guides and Health Care Justice. During the summer of 2023, Madison completed her nonprofit internship at the Charlotte chapter of Make a Wish, conducting wish discovery visits and planning trip itineraries for the children’s wishes. Madison also engaged in a month-long study abroad experience in Stellenbosch, South Africa exploring aspects of health, wellness, and social-spatial justice in the South African context. Madison has been involved in research both on campus, through Dr. Dréau’s lab researching the mechanisms of cancer metastasis, and in South Africa, exploring the options of primary health care available to citizens, particularly focusing on those with low socioeconomic statuses.
