Counselors & College Advisors
Each year, we rely on counselors and college advisors to identify students who embody the values at the heart of the program: intellectual curiosity, commitment to community service and ethical leadership. Your close work with students gives you a unique perspective on their achievements, character and potential.
We invite you to nominate seniors who you think are deserving of this prestigious scholarship opportunity at UNC Charlotte. There is no limit to the number of qualified seniors you can nominate and nominations will be accepted from Aug. 15 through Oct. 15 of each year.
Application Timeline
Nomination
There are two ways that a student may be nominated:
Counselor/College Advisor Nomination
- To gain access to the Levine Scholarship application, students are nominated by their school counselor or college advisor at their current high school or they may submit a self-nomination.
- School counselors and college advisors currently in our system will receive an email on Aug. 15 with the nomination form. If you have not submitted a nomination within the past three years, we ask that you complete the short verification form linked below to access the nomination form. This form opens each cycle in early August.
- There is no limit to the number of nominees you may submit. We encourage you to nominate your highest-achieving students who best exemplify the program’s three core values: intellectual curiosity, commitment to community service and ethical leadership.
Homeschooled students can be nominated by a professor or teacher who is not related to them, or they can submit a self-nomination.
Self-Nomination
- This process provides access to high-achieving students applying from high schools that historically have not participated in the school nomination process. Students complete a short questionnaire to assess their eligibility and competitiveness on the self-nomination form.
- This form will be accessible to students on our Application & Selection Process page on Aug. 15.
- We encourage students to consult with their school counselors to assess competitiveness and fit for the program before submitting a self-nomination.
Access to the Nomination Form: Counselor and College Advisor Verification Aug. 1 through Oct. 15

Honors Application Information
The Levine Scholars Program is a stand alone-program. We work closely with the Honors College, but we are separate and distinct, with different requirements and responsibilities for our respective students. Levine Scholarship applicants who would like to be considered for the Honors College and scholarships associated with it should complete the separate Honors College application by their priority deadline. Levine applicants who move forward as semifinalists are automatically admitted into the University Honors Program in the Honors College. Computer Science Honors and Business Honors may later review these applicants and offer selected admission to their programs.
