Abby is a Levine Scholar from Apex, North Carolina pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology with a Minor in Communications Studies. Her civic engagement project, Canvas for Our Climate, partners with CleanAIRE NC to empower Charlotte high school students to think critically and creatively about the history of environmental injustice that has shaped their own communities. Abby is the Vice President of the Student Organization of Meteorology and has leadership roles in Charlotte Youth Climate Coalition and Women in Meteorology. In the summer of 2025, she participated in the NSF-funded Research and Mentorship in Urban Systems REU program where she developed her honors thesis on severe thunderstorm climatology. Abby studied abroad in Sendai, Japan in Summer of 2023 to study natural disaster risk reduction. She also interned with Discovery Place Science Museum in Uptown Charlotte to bring STEM-related educational opportunities to students across Mecklenburg County. After graduation, Abby hopes to pursue a Masters in Atmospheric Science.
