David is a fourth year scholar and Honors Nursing Student. He is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduation, David plans working as a nurse in Labor and Delivery and will pursue an advanced degree in nursing midwifery. His civic engagement project aids women living with metastatic breast cancer. He went on to present research on his work at the National Undergraduate Research Conference. David also studies birth plan effect and utilization at a local hospital. Additionally, David conducted research in Costa Rica on prenatal care access. During his final summer David spent with Atrium Health’s Nurse Externship Program. In this role, he worked on the Labor and Delivery unit where he assisted with many deliveries, emergencies, and prenatal care. David is the president of the nursing association, the student representative for the School of Nursing, and the lead for the Levine Scholars Transition Team.
