Eden is pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Biomedical and a Minor in Biology. After graduating, Eden has aspirations of attending medical school. Originally from Morgantown WV, she has gained valuable experience interning in a medical research lab as well as the Emergency Department at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Her work in the orthopedic nanomedicine research lab had a focus on monitoring the changes in the immune system with the presence of osteosarcoma. She currently contributes to Project Heart2Heart with Atrium Health, supporting efforts to improve blood pressure control in vulnerable populations, and has presented related findings at the North American Primary Care Research Group Conference. For one of her summer experiences with LSP, Eden studied abroad at the University of Cantabria in Santander, Spain, where her research examined CFC-driven ozone depletion and its public health implications. Beyond research, she serves as Chief Operating Officer of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit LiTEArary Society, which has impacted over 91,000 preschool children and facilitated more than $1,000,000 in book donations to combat book deserts. Eden also interned with the Charlotte Community Health Clinic and is the current Secretary of Students Against Melanoma at UNC Charlotte. The Levine Scholars Program supports Eden’s goal of pursuing a career in medicine that integrates research, service, and innovation to expand access to high-quality care in vulnerable communities.
