Jairus is a second-year from Durham, North Carolina, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in Charlotte as well as Habitat for Humanity in Blount County, Tennessee; he also serves UNC Charlotte as a Niner Guide, leading tours for campus guests. Jairus’s experience interning with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte has allowed him to engage in nonprofit work centered around families with children experiencing medical crises. He is also a member of UNC Charlotte’s chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and through this chapter, he attended NSBE’s 49th Annual Engineering Conference in Kansas City, MO in March of 2023.
