Major: Earth and Environmental Sciences

Jasmine is majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Art History. On campus, she serves as an EcoRep for the Office of Sustainability, Secretary of the UNC Charlotte Bird Watching Club and is a member of Plants for People and the Pollinator Club. Jasmine regularly volunteers with the North Carolina Conservation Network, where she works to raise awareness of environmental legislation that will affect North Carolina residents and give them a voice in their environmental health. In her sophomore year, she worked with the Levine Museum of the New South to develop their engagement with surrounding communities. She also learned more about the power of comprehensive historical knowledge in shaping an inclusive city identity. For her professional summer experience, Jasmine worked as a research assistant on a project that analyzed the growing trend of food halls and how their operation is shaping contemporary cities and food access.
