Magdalena Johnson is a bilingual scholar at UNC Charlotte with a passion for anthropology, media literacy, and journalism. Her previous research with youth civic engagement cohorts focused on the representation of women of color in media, media literacy in ELA classrooms, and justice-centered writing among youth. She is a new member of the Chi Omega sorority and is beginning to volunteer for their Wish Making philanthropy. Magdalena spent her summer in Wyoming’s Wind River Range, learning at the National Outdoor Leadership School. She’s most excited to study abroad and begin exploring undergraduate research at Charlotte.
