Hometown: Finleyville, PA

Major: Systems and Industrial Engineering

Mallory is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Systems and Industrial Engineering at UNC Charlotte with a minor in Mathematics and a concentration in Energy Systems. She is also enrolled in the university’s accelerated master’s program in Engineering Management. Passionate about advancing national energy security, Mallory is especially interested in the role of advanced nuclear technology in building a resilient and sustainable energy future.

In 2024, Mallory served as a Team Lead Analyst for NASA’s Mission Concept Academy (MCA), leading a team of analysts in developing innovative solutions for a Mars rover mission. Her professional experience includes serving as a Corporate Sustainability Intern with Envision Charlotte, a nonprofit focused on smart-city innovations, and as an Energy Engineering Intern with Trane Intelligent Services, where she supported efficiency improvements for commercial energy systems.

Mallory is an active member of the North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) and has represented the organization at national conferences, advocating for the expansion of nuclear energy. On campus, she serves as a Lead Ambassador for the College of Engineering, and is actively involved in the Society of Systems Engineers.

As part of her commitment to expanding access to STEM education, Mallory partnered with a fellow Levine Scholar and Project Scientist to lead hands-on engineering workshops for elementary students in the Charlotte area. The workshops focused on increasing technical literacy and building early exposure to engineering concepts. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she brings a systems-thinking approach to her work, grounded in a strong commitment to energy, national security and public service.
