Major: Nursing, Communication Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies
Mia is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health and Medical Humanities and a minor in Psychology.
She is passionate about connecting her academic interests with contributions to the Charlotte community. On campus, she works as a certified nursing assistant with the Student Health Center and serves as the pre-nursing representative for the Association of Nursing Students. She enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Med Assist and Hope Street Food Pantry.
Her nonprofit internship with the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department helped her better understand Charlotte’s public health landscape. Studying abroad at Stellenbosch University in South Africa opened her to new perspectives inside and outside the classroom.
Mia continues exploring experiences and civic engagement to combine her passion for healthcare with community impact and has goals of becoming a registered nurse.
