Natalie Doerfler

Class of 2027

Hometown: Calera, AL

Major: Biology

Natalie is pursuing a B.A. in Biology and a B.A. in Political Science. Over the past year, she has become interested in the intersection between public policy and conservation work. She is currently working with a faculty mentor on research about political animus and polarization. In the future, she hopes to use her interdisciplinary background to advocate for evidence-based policymaking and public service reform. Beyond academics, Natalie is a member of the Charlotte Green Initiative, a student-led committee at UNC Charlotte designed to promote and fund sustainability-related projects. Natalie also frequently volunteers with nonprofits including the North Carolina Conservation Network and the Catawba Lands Conservancy (where she completed her nonprofit internship). In her free time, she enjoys being a part of the UNC Charlotte Women’s Club Soccer Team and going for runs on the campus greenway.
