Rishita is a pursuing a B.S. in Biology and B.A. Computer Science. Originally from Tampa, FL, she has gained valuable experience researching with the University of Southern FL’s Taneja College of Pharmacy. Her work focused on writing a chapter for a medical textbook, examining the disease burden of neurocognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, anxiety and depression. During her time at Charlotte, Rishita has given a research presentation at the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS). Her study analyzed slum redevelopment in Mumbai, India, exploring its impact on public health, industry and the livelihoods of slum dwellers. During her time on campus, she has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House and the Jamil Niner Pantry. Rishita is also a Youth Ambassador and serves on the Youth Committee for HundrED, a Finland-based organization working to implement impactful and scalable innovations in education throughout various countries.
