Sabrina Coffaro

Class of 2028

Hometown: Clayton, NC

Major: Architecture

Sabrina is from Lecheria, Venezuela, and seeks to obtain both a BA in Architecture and a Spanish translation certificate. Post-graduation, she plans to go to graduate school for Architecture and acquire her licensure. She also hopes to get her license in Real Estate and work in both fields, supporting affordable housing movements and community-based planning in areas with high minority populations. On campus, she is involved with the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), models for MIDAS magazine, and is involved with many art-based initiatives, including her civic engagement project. Sabrina, in partnership with Michelle (‘28) and Jasmine (‘27), hosted the second annual Levine Scholars Art Gallery. Proceeds from art sales went to Arts+, a nonprofit devoted to increasing accessibility to arts education for high school students in Charlotte. She wishes to use her passions for community, language, art, and design as tools to further enrich the Charlotte community.

Her favorite NOLS memory was bonding with her cohort on her 18th birthday when the group summited Mt. Geikie. Sabrina also interned with The Bulb to provide the community with easy access to fresh, free produce and bridge the gap for families in Mecklenburg County experiencing food insecurity. In the summer of 2026, she plans to study abroad in Tokyo, Japan, with the architecture program to gain a broader international perspective. She also volunteers weekly with the local cat shelter!
