Major: Psychology

Yazi is pursuing a double major in Psychology and Biology. She is dedicated to providing individuals with easily accessible, high quality mental health care. Yazi is a part of the Youth Access to Psychiatry Program, where she focuses her research on the facilitators and barriers to the implementation of primary and mental healthcare. She is also an active member of the Psychology Student Coalition and a volunteer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, where she aids in outreach programs and hopes to receive training to facilitate family and peer support groups for individuals struggling with mental illness. Her volunteering with the Imagination Station Science and History Museum showed her the importance of nurturing children’s love for learning and has led to her civic engagement efforts toward implementing book drives for communities affected by Hurricane Helene.
